What is Reiki

What does a Reiki treatment feel like?

During a treatment I am working to shift any trapped energy or blockages and boosting any depleted areas. Your body will be drawing energy where it is needed the most. Reiki energy will flow through out but the hand positions used allow me to focus on particular areas that might need more attention. I like to work with clients with their intentions for the sessions and also what I observe from the energy in the session.

An energy healing therapy

Your body is it’s own healing system but often life gets in the way. Reiki can give your body a boost and create space for your body's own healing response. Reiki can help with:

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Managing stress and burnout

  • Working on improving your sleep

  • Supporting emotional wellbeing

  • Moving through grief

  • Managing chronic pain

  • Over functioning

Reiki is a complementary therapy. It is not a substitute for medical treatment, diagnosis or advice.

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy therapy that supports deep relaxation and your body’s natural healing ability. The practice originated in Japan by Mikao Usui and is often translated as “life force energy.” The term Reiki is used to describe the practice and the energy itself.

During a session, you'll lie down fully clothed while I place my hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body. There's no pressure or no manipulation and clients simply lie on the treatment bed and relax. I channel Reiki (or source energy) and your body draws where it is needed, leaving you feeling relaxed and rebalanced.

How can Reiki help me?
What happens during a treatment?

Everyone experiences Reiki differently.

Many people describe feeling deeply relaxed during a treatment, feeling warmth or coolness. Some people notice tingling or gentle waves of sensation, some see visuals or colours. Some feel emotions come up and others simply drift into a state similar to falling asleep.

Some people notice more changes after a session such as feeling lighter, more ease, emotional wellbeing, physical changes and sometimes clearer thinking or intuition.

Often Reiki treatments leave you feeling relaxed but also gently re-energised. There's no “right” way to experience Reiki and will work beneath the surface regardless.
